Working Class Witch: Marxist Theory for Revolutionary Practice

In this workshop, Dakota will present the Marxist framework of historical materialism (the idea that material conditions shape culture, politics and beliefs rather than the other way around) as the strongest foundation upon which one can build an authentic, effective personal practice.

Folk magik has always been an act of resilience and resistance undertaken by common folks who wanted to improve their lot in life. It is inherently anti-capitalist because it is rooted in ancestor veneration (our connection to history) and animism (our connection to the earth). Learn how to honor those who came before us by using an evidence-based approach, grounded in history which allows us to strike a fruitful balance between logic and intuition, intellect and instinct.
